Dystopian Trilogy Pick: Undertow

Undertow (book 1)
by Michael Buckley
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
2015
376 pages
ISBN: 9780544348257

Get Ready! Undertow will make a huge splash (yes, pun intended) in YA novels this year! Gripping, action packed, full of fierce, raw energy, violent clashes between humans and "monsters," one kick axe (again, spelling intended)  girl who is willing to do anything to save both species. You will have tons of nail biting moments when you will see the pages turning at record speed, and you will find yourself hurtled into a world gone terribly wrong.

  3. Pamela, Thank you so much for your reviews. It is so nice to find them in my inbox. The last book that my book club read was Jackaby, which I Iearned about from you. It won out over several other titles in an online poll. I look forward to sharing the trailer with the book club kids the next time we meet. I've got a few sci-fi, fantasy and dystopian fans, so I think they'll eat it up and perhaps it will be a part of their summer reading! Thank you and I am crossing my fingers that I am in the first five by the time I submit this!

  11. This sounds pretty cool. Thanks for posting this up. I will check it out.
Fans of dystopia/post-apocalyptic should also check out Karyn Folan's series 'The Doomsday Kids' (http://thedoomsdaykids.com/wp/).
I just kept reading great things about this series so I finally gave it a chance, despite it not being my usual genre and I absolutely loved it. I'm totally hooked and can't wait for the 5th book this year.
Everything about these books is wonderful. Fast paced action adventure with excellent characters and a lot of exciting, unexpected twists.
    Top YA books.
