The dynamic team of author Sharpson and illustrator Santat strikes gold again with Help! I'm Being Eaten by a Bear!

An excited traveler puts on his fancy traveling pants and jets to Alaska where he's handed a pamphlet that instructs what to do if you happen along a bear. The man reads it, but decides it's not helpful at all. He's not going out into the wilds, so chances are he'd never see a bear. He goes along his merry way and bumps into a huge bear!

He's terrified, so he flips through his pamphlet. The bear watches patiently. The man decides he needs to let the bear know that he's not afraid. He's confident. He makes fun of the bear. The bear watches. The man decides to ask, "What do you want?" The bear draws a picture: it's a bear eating the traveler. The man has to give kudos to the bear who is a pretty good artist.

Before the bear can eat him, the man runs. The bear chases him up mountains, crossing rivers, in an airplane: the bear even follows him online. The wild shenanigans are laugh out loud funny, and all the action is captured masterfully by Dan Santat, who seems to be a bit of a bear expert himself.

Kids will love the chase and the unexpected outcome, proving the least likely pair can be friends.

Highly, highly recommended. I see this picture book a national award winner...mark my words. Rush out and get this one today...well, on November 3!

Ages 3 and up.
